This species, although it is a climbing plant, the inforescences appear from the ground. It is the only Amydrium species that does not flower on climbing shoots, A. humile forms sprawling colonies with coriaceous, occasionally almost sub-succulent, green to greyish leaves scattered along rooting sterile branches the internodes of which often exceed 20 cm. It is native to Sumatra and the Southern part of the Malaysian Peninsula.
