Firesticks

Firesticks (Euphorbia tirucalli) is an architectural succulent prized for its dense tangle of slender, pencil-like stems that blush warm shades of coral, orange and red through the cooler months before mellowing to lime-green in the heat. Almost leafless and wonderfully sculptural, it brings a fiery, contemporary edge to sunny courtyards, poolside beds and bright indoor corners, and looks especially striking in a simple stone or terracotta pot where the glowing stems can take centre stage.
Give it as much direct sun as you can, indoors or out, to keep those flame tones at their brightest, and water only sparingly once the mix has dried right through, easing off further over winter. Take care when pruning, as the milky sap is a skin and eye irritant, so wear gloves and wash up afterwards. Grown and potted on-site, each plant is hand-picked and ready to settle into its new home.
