Rhipsalis Fish Bone

The Rhipsalis Fish Bone is a wonderfully quirky epiphytic cactus, named for its long, flattened stems that arch and cascade in a zig-zagging pattern reminiscent of a fish skeleton. Unlike its desert cousins, this jungle-dwelling cactus is soft, spineless and endlessly graceful, spilling over the edge of a pot or hanging basket in lush green ribbons. It brings a relaxed, sculptural charm to a bright bathroom, a sheltered patio or a shelf where its trailing stems can tumble freely.

Give it bright, indirect light and a little extra humidity to keep those stems plump and happy, avoiding harsh midday sun that can scorch the foliage. Water when the top of the mix has dried, easing right back over the cooler months, and feed lightly through the growing season for steady growth.
