Calathea Musaica Network

The Calathea Network is a rewarding but somewhat fussy plant that likes attentive care. Give it bright, indirect light and keep it out of direct sun, which fades the pattern and scorches the leaves. Keep the soil consistently and lightly moist, never letting it dry out fully and never leaving it waterlogged. It is sensitive to tap water, so where possible use filtered, distilled or rainwater, as fluoride and salts cause brown, crispy edges. High humidity is essential, so mist regularly, use a pebble tray or keep it in a humid room, and keep it warm and away from cold draughts, heaters and air conditioning. Feed lightly through the warmer months, and wipe the leaves gently to keep them dust-free.
