Dracaena Massangeana (Happy Plant)

The Happy Plant is easy and forgiving, ideal for beginners. It's happy in bright, indirect light and tolerates medium and lower light, though brighter spots keep its golden stripe strongest; keep it out of harsh direct sun, which scorches the leaves. Let the top third of the soil dry out between waterings and avoid overwatering, as soggy roots are the main cause of trouble. It's a little sensitive to fluoride and salts in tap water, so use rainwater or filtered water if you can, and trim any brown tips. Use a pot with drainage holes, keep it warm and away from cold draughts, feed lightly through the warmer months, and wipe the leaves occasionally to keep them glossy.
