Maranta Fascinator

The Maranta 'Fascinator' is a rewarding prayer plant that likes a little attention. Give it bright, indirect light and keep it out of direct sun, which fades the pink veining and scorches the leaves, while deep shade dulls its colours. Keep the soil consistently and lightly moist, never letting it dry out fully or sit waterlogged, and use room-temperature water, ideally filtered or rainwater, as it can be sensitive to the minerals in tap water. It loves humidity, so mist regularly, use a pebble tray or keep it in a humid room, as dry air causes brown, crispy edges. Keep it warm and away from cold draughts, heaters and air conditioning, and feed lightly through the warmer months. It trails beautifully, so a hanging pot suits it well.
