Variegated Peace Lily

Give your Variegated Peace Lily a spot with bright, indirect light to keep the creamy variegation bold and well-defined, as too little light will fade the markings and too much direct sun will scorch the pale patches. It tolerates lower-light corners better than most, though flowering and colour are best in a well-lit room out of harsh afternoon rays. Peace lilies adore humidity, so bathrooms, kitchens or a spot near other plants suit it perfectly, and an occasional misting or a nearby pebble tray keeps the foliage glossy.

Keep the potting mix consistently moist but never waterlogged, watering as the top of the soil begins to feel dry. This plant is a wonderfully honest communicator and will visibly droop when thirsty, then bounce back within hours of a good drink, so use its cues to find a rhythm. Feed with a diluted balanced fertiliser through the warmer months to support fresh growth and flowering, wipe the leaves now and then to keep them dust-free, and trim spent flower stems at the base to keep the clump looking tidy.
