Maranta Watercolour

The Maranta Watercolour is a low-growing prayer plant with softly rounded leaves painted in an artist's palette of sage, emerald and cream, threaded through with delicate pink veining that looks brushed on by hand. Come evening, the foliage folds gently upward as if in prayer, only to relax open again with the morning light. Its trailing, spreading habit makes it a lovely pick for a hanging basket, a shelf edge or a bright bathroom bench where its markings can be admired up close.

Give it warm, bright but indirect light to keep those watercolour tones vivid, and shield it from harsh direct sun that can scorch the tender leaves. Maranta loves consistent moisture and humidity, so keep the soil evenly damp and mist regularly or group it with other plants.
