Calendula 'Princess Mix' Heirloom Seeds for a Vibrant Garden

How to grow: Calendula is one of the easiest flowers to grow from seed and perfect for beginners. Sow seeds about 1 cm deep, either directly where they are to grow or into trays to transplant. It's happy in most of the year outside the hottest months, and prefers a spot with full sun to part shade and well-drained soil. Keep the soil moist while the seeds germinate, which takes one to two weeks. Thin or space plants to around 20 to 30 cm apart. Water regularly, and deadhead the spent flowers to keep it blooming for months. A wonderful companion around the veggie patch, calendula draws in bees and beneficial insects and helps deter pests, and its petals are edible. Good companions include tomato and chilli.
