Heirloom Strawberry 'White Soul' Seeds – Unique Alpine Variety

How to grow: Alpine strawberries are grown from seed and reward a little patience. Sow the fine seeds on the surface of a moist seed-raising mix and press them in gently, as they need light to germinate, so barely cover them. Keep them warm and consistently moist, and be patient, as germination can take three to four weeks or more. Grow seedlings on until large enough to handle, then transplant into pots, borders or the edge of a garden bed, spacing plants about 25 to 30 cm apart. They like a sunny to lightly shaded spot with rich, well-drained soil. Water regularly and feed while fruiting. Unlike runner strawberries, this variety stays compact and tidy and fruits over a long season. Good companions include spinach and calendula.
