How to grow: Mint is vigorous and easy, and best grown in a pot to keep its spreading roots in check. Sow the fine seeds on the surface of a moist seed-raising mix and barely cover them, as they need light to germinate. Keep warm and consistently moist, and be patient, as germination can take two to three weeks. Mint likes a spot with part shade to full sun and rich, moisture-retentive soil, and unlike most herbs it enjoys damp ground, so water regularly and don't let it dry out.
